In today’s rapidly evolving world, the importance of female leadership in business, politics, and community cannot be overstated. The United Nations (UN) has recognized this significance and made it a focal point under its goal of achieving gender parity and empowering all women and girls. The Current Landscape of Female Leadership
Despite the progress made, women still hold only 28% of managerial positions, according to a UN report. This disparity is further highlighted by McKinsey & Company’s Women in the Workplace 2022 report, which states that for every 100 men promoted from entry-level to managerial positions, only 87 women (and 82 women of color) receive the same advancement. This lack of female leadership often results in gaps in planning and decision-making, as female business leaders tend to be highly attuned to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion due to the gender headwinds they may have faced.

Methodology
To compile our list of powerful female leaders, we selected talented, high-potential women across all races, cultures, and identities who have been identified by their organizations as being on the fast track to leadership and executive roles.
Meet Some Extraordinary Women Leaders
Sophia Majeed – Principal Clinical Scientist, 23andMe
As a principal clinical scientist, Sophia Majeed leads 23andMe’s clinical efforts in oncology. She has been instrumental in advancing the company’s wholly-owned anti-CD200R1 immuno-oncology antibody from discovery into Phase 1 and 2a clinical trials for cancer treatment. Majeed co-founded 23andShe, an employee resource group that highlights women’s issues and celebrates their accomplishments. She emphasizes the importance of networking for career progression and showcases the talents of group members to both internal and external audiences.
Karen Chong – VP of Audience Strategy, Age Inclusion, AARP
Karen Chong leads AARP’s initiatives to engage more diverse audiences and tackle ageism and age discrimination. She empowers individuals to choose how they live as they age. Prior to AARP, Chong led partnership and content marketing teams at leading organizations such as PBS, The Washington Post Company, and Pearson PLC. She is committed to promoting age inclusion as a core element of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and fighting age discrimination in the workplace.
Jackie Dacanay – Director of Culture & Belonging at Fairmont San Francisco, Accor
Jackie Dacanay began her career with Fairmont Hotels in 2006. As the director of Culture & Belonging at Fairmont San Francisco, she focuses on connecting more deeply with employees and ensuring guests enjoy an exceptional experience through authentic interactions. Dacanay aspires to advance her position within the Fairmont brand and inspire others by demonstrating that they can pursue a similar career path and achieve growth within the organization.
Rachelle Chapman – Director, The Adecco Group US Foundation
Rachelle Chapman is a longtime employment advocate who cares about helping veterans and military spouses succeed in the workforce. She leads the Adecco Group Military Alliance program, which boosts employment, education, and career development opportunities for military-connected talent. Chapman is also the military liaison to military bases and veterans service officers across the country. She is passionate about closing the gender leadership gap in the military spouse and women veteran community by investing in programs and partnerships that champion economic independence and the advancement of women through education and employment opportunities.
Vykky Howard – Director of Social Media and Content Marketing, Advance Auto Parts
Vykky Howard oversees the organic social media and content strategy, influencer marketing, and copy production at Advance Auto Parts. Prior to her time at Advance Auto Parts, Howard worked at VMware, Red Hat, and Duke.
