Monthly Horoscope for 2023: The Year of Challenges and Changes
Monthly Horoscope for 2023: The Year of Challenges and Changes
According to astropsychologist Alexey Selyaninov, the upcoming year promises to be not just challenging, but outright critical. In this article, we will delve into a detailed analysis of the events each month holds, based on the previous discussion of the general trends of the coming year.
January: A Second New Year and the Threat of Unrest
January will be strongly influenced by the winter solstice and New Year charts. The key event of the month is the direct motion of Mars, the chronocrat of the year, starting on January 12, 2023. Throughout the month, Mars’ speed will be minimal, increasing its influence on global events. In astrology, the slower a planet moves, the deeper levels of the collective unconscious it affects.
Mid-January may see Mars competing with the slow-moving Neptune and Pluto, which could lead to spontaneous unrest, accidents, explosions, fires, and even deliberate sabotage or terrorist acts. It is advisable to avoid crowded places and large gatherings.
Additionally, January will bring another significant event. The New Moon on January 21, 2023, will mark the beginning of the Year of the Rabbit (or Hare) according to the Eastern calendar. This event occurs at 23:54 Minsk time, almost midnight from Saturday to Sunday, providing another opportunity to celebrate the New Year.
February: The Calm Before the Storm
February will see some stabilization, with almost no significant planetary resonances. This month will likely offer a respite, allowing us to prepare for the shocks that March may bring.
March: Protests, Information Wars, and Epidemics
March will be marked by the ingress of two slow planets: Saturn will enter Pisces on March 7, 2023, and Pluto will enter Aquarius on March 23, 2023. This circumstance alone could lead to serious shifts and even upheavals in various spheres of our lives.
The most significant challenges will come from the square of Mars and Neptune, which will be active for almost the first two decades of March. This period may see a sharp deterioration in the epidemiological situation, mass poisonings, spontaneous protests, and rampant information wars.
Given the negative resonance between Saturn in Pisces and Jupiter in Aries (mid-month), there is a high probability of accidents and even deliberate sabotage on various hydraulic structures.
April: Financial Market Turmoil
Late March to early April will bring a harmonious trine between Mars and Saturn. However, the conjunction of Venus and Uranus in Taurus during the same period threatens serious upheavals in the banking sector and financial markets.
We can hope that the trine between Venus and Pluto in mid-April will help stabilize the situation, as the heavy and disharmonious Solar Eclipse on April 20, 2023 (at 07:14 Minsk time) will cast a dark shadow over the rest of the month.
May: Catastrophes, Cataclysms, Terrorist Attacks, and Collapses
May will be one of the most challenging and memorable periods of the coming year. The tone will be set by the Lunar Eclipse affected by Uranus (May 5, 2023, at 20:35 Minsk time). In the first half of the month, we can still benefit from the harmonious aspects of Mars first with Uranus and then with Neptune. However, from mid-May, the situation will begin to change rapidly and irreversibly.
On May 16, 2023, Jupiter will enter Taurus, where it will stay until the end of the year. Even a brief analysis of historical precedents suggests that this transit of Jupiter through Taurus will be associated with certain crisis situations, not only for the territories that were once part of the Russian Empire or the USSR.
A little later, on May 20, 2023, Mars, the ruler of the year, will enter Leo, thereby sharply enhancing this negative resonant structure. Essentially, Mars, Jupiter, Pluto, and the Lunar Nodes will form one of the most tense astrological configurations—the karmic cross—which will remain in the sky almost until the end of the month.
The intense resonance of such active and even belligerent planets is unlikely to go unnoticed. Anything is possible: from currency crashes and stock market collapses to a sharp escalation of the military-political situation, from natural cataclysms to coups, from the emergence of new deadly viruses to man-made disasters, large-scale sabotage, and terrorist attacks.
June: A Spoonful of Tar
In June, we will likely try to “lick our wounds,” taking advantage of the beneficial influence of the constructive sextile between Jupiter and Saturn. However, the negative resonances of Venus and Pluto at the beginning of the month, as well as Mars and Uranus closer to the end, will likely be that very “spoonful of tar” that can spoil even the most seemingly favorable situation.
July: Financial, Military-Political, and Geopolitical Problems
The astrological situation in July will be complex. At the beginning of the month, the square of Venus and Uranus will again emphasize the familiar financial and economic problems. In the middle of the month, the opposition of Mars and Saturn will provoke an exacerbation of the military-technical and geopolitical situation. Closer to the end of the month, these trends will be reinforced by the negative resonance of the Sun and Pluto.
August: New Acquaintances, New Purchases, and Old Problems
Contrary to traditional expectations, the beginning of August does not bode any particular problems or destruction. Throughout the first half of the month, the constructive resonances of Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, and Uranus will contribute to strengthening the material and technical base and establishing useful contacts.
Nevertheless, closer to the end of the month, the square of retrograde Venus and Jupiter, as well as the opposition of Mars and Neptune (the latter aspect is especially unpleasant), will bring us back to the unresolved problems of July.
September: A Respite
Almost the entire September and the first decade of October will see an interesting astrological pattern in the sky: all the slow planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) will be retrograde (i.e., moving backward). Until September 15, 2023, they will be joined by Mercury.
Some astrologers and esotericists may consider this pattern destructive and even ominous, but I do not share this opinion. In my view, there will simply be some pause, a respite.
