How They Met
Kardea and Bryon first met in September 2016. They dated on and off until they went their separate ways. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, they both moved back to Atlanta to be with their families. Kardea’s mother encouraged her to reach out to Bryon. “My mom mentioned him and said, ‘Hey, that guy you used to date, how’s he doing?'” she told People. They rekindled their romance in March of that year.
A Strong Bond
The couple works together every day, with Bryon being Kardea’s brand manager. They complement each other well in the workplace. “You have to really like someone to be with them all the time,” she told a media outlet. “We truly are best friends. He calms my nervous system. He is the best person to have around. I’m very happy to do life with him.”
The Proposal
Bryon proposed to Kardea at midnight on New Year’s Day in 2023. She shared a video of the special moment, showing her dancing and counting down to the New Year while Bryon kneeled behind her with a ring. She turned around and began crying upon seeing her partner’s proposal. “And this is how I brought in the New Year…… I’M GETTING MARRIED!!!!! The best night of my life,” she captioned the clip.
The Wedding
Kardea and Bryon tied the knot in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on March 8, 2025, surrounded by “lots of love and lots of family,” as the Daytime Emmy winner told a magazine. She wore a custom wedding gown designed by Project Runway contestant Laurie Underwood, inspired by one of Adele’s concert looks. Kardea shared that she had never considered walking down the aisle until she fell for Bryon. “It wasn’t until I met Bryon that I thought, ‘Oh my gosh, this is the man of my dreams. I would love to be a bride. I would love to be a wife,'” she explained.
Married Life
Kardea and Bryon are thriving after their March nuptials. “I married my best friend,” she said. “It has been absolutely amazing. We’re still newlyweds. It has been really great.” The couple is excited for their relationship to grow and change in this new life stage.
