From Humble Beginnings to Extraordinary Achievements

Ekaterina Stankevich, born and raised in Baranovichi, has created an extraordinary life for herself and her family. As a mother of 18 children, a successful businesswoman, and a philanthropist, she has become an inspiration to many. Her numerous accolades include the title of “Woman of the Year – 2014” for her contributions to child and youth education, and the “Person of the Year” award in 2017 for her charitable activities. Most recently, she emerged victorious in the online marathon #LeadershipIsInfluence, held as part of the Global Leadership Summit – 2018 in Belarus.

Balancing Motherhood and Self-Realization

Guided by her feminine nature and high ideals, Ekaterina harmoniously combines motherhood and self-realization. She holds a master’s degree in psychology and actively participates in charitable initiatives, inspiring others through her actions. Her altruism brings her immense joy and fulfillment. Recently, she achieved a long-held dream by traveling to Hainan Island, China, to study acupuncture techniques at the Traditional Chinese Medicine Center. Her story is a testament to how morality, courageous kindness, and the loving impulses of the heart can lead to success in all areas of life.

Charitable Endeavors: A Lifelong Commitment

Ekaterina’s charitable activities are deeply rooted in her upbringing. Born into a loving and respectful family, she was inspired by her grandmother’s words: “Life is given for good deeds!” At the age of 14, she decided to adopt a child from an orphanage and provide them with the love and care she had received from her parents. Her husband supported her decision, and together they have created a foster home for children in Baranovichi.

Helping the Needy

Ekaterina and her husband established the Baranovichi Charitable Public Association “Mercy.” Their primary focus is assisting orphans and youth from disadvantaged families. For over five years, they have been performing concert programs in boarding schools, hospices, nursing homes, and prisons. They also provide humanitarian aid.

A Shelter for the Homeless

In 2012, Ekaterina opened a shelter for the homeless and low-income individuals. The shelter offers hot meals, hygiene facilities, and a sense of dignity to those in need. She organized a city-wide campaign called “Do Good,” encouraging people to donate clothing, food, and other essentials. The shelter also hosts weekend gatherings for lonely elderly people and World War II veterans, providing them with companionship, food, and entertainment.

Empowering the Roma Community

Ekaterina’s charitable efforts extend to the Roma community, where she has made significant strides in employment and social integration. Her children actively participate in all these charitable activities, learning the values of empathy, compassion, and selflessness.

Entrepreneurship and Education

Ekaterina’s journey into business began with her education as an accountant-economist. She ventured into selling household appliances and, with the help of her best friend, established a successful retail network consisting of 14 stores. However, as her family grew to 12 children, she found it increasingly challenging to balance business and family life. Eventually, she decided to lease her business to focus more on her family and charitable work.

Pursuing Psychology

Ekaterina’s interest in psychology was piqued when she first adopted a teenage child. Facing challenges in parenting, she realized the need for additional education to better understand child development. She enrolled in a university, graduated with honors, and continued her studies in a master’s program. Her research on the socialization of children from disadvantaged families in foster homes has been widely recognized.

Parenting Philosophy

Ekaterina believes that children learn more from actions than words. She emphasizes the importance of setting a positive example as parents and maintaining a loving and supportive family environment. She and her husband prioritize spending quality time with their children, attending their sports events and concerts, and fostering a strong friendship with them. Discipline is approached through open communication and understanding rather than punishment.

Music and Sports

Ekaterina encourages her children to pursue music and sports, believing that these activities foster a sense of beauty, self-confidence, and purpose. Her children’s participation in concerts and competitions has become a significant part of their lives, bringing them joy and a sense of accomplishment.

Health and Well-being

Ekaterina emphasizes the importance of a healthy body and mind. She believes that a child’s mental health, physical activity, and a loving environment contribute to their overall well-being. Her approach to health includes principles of psychosomatics and preventive measures to maintain her family’s health.
