John Whaite, known for his appearances on Strictly Come Dancing, has been hospitalized after being hit by a car. The TV personality and baker shared the news on his Instagram Stories, describing the incident as “sudden and shocking.”
“Last night, I was hit by a car,” John wrote. “I rolled onto the hood, damaging it and the windshield, before landing on the road. I crawled to the sidewalk where a kind stranger stayed with me until the ambulance arrived.”
Doctors told him the outcome could have been fatal if not for his “16 stone of muscle.” He added, “Build strong muscles and core strength, and avoid wearing black when crossing the road in the dark.”

In a later post, John clarified that he used the term “speeding” figuratively and praised the police and NHS workers for their support. “How lucky we are to have these amazing people by our sides,” he said.
