Stellar Promises: An Astrological Forecast for 2022
Stellar Promises: An Astrological Forecast for 2022
As a seasoned astrologer, I’ve often emphasized that a comprehensive forecast requires more than just an analysis of key cycles, planetary transits, or their mutual aspects. It also necessitates a deep understanding of the prevailing financial, economic, and socio-political climate, as well as the dominant trajectory of their development.
The Astrological Climate
Recent events, unfortunately, do not foster an optimistic outlook for the future. Many pressing issues that the global community has been grappling with remain unresolved, merely postponed for another day. This stagnation can be attributed to the influence of Saturn, the ruler of the outgoing year, known for its cautious and conservative nature, often delaying crucial decisions.
However, change is inevitable, and in the coming year, Saturn will cede its authority to Jupiter, the planet of expansion, growth, and acceleration. In classical astrology, Jupiter is often referred to as the “great fortune,” in contrast to Venus, the “lesser fortune.” But it’s essential not to be overly optimistic or foster illusory expectations based on this.
The Dual Nature of Jupiter
Jupiter, the ruler of Olympus and the largest planet in our solar system, is indeed considered highly beneficial. However, it has a unique characteristic: Jupiter favors grandeur and pomp, preferring to “go big” in all things. This means that successes can be extraordinary, but failures can be catastrophic.
Unfortunately, the current situation does not provide a foundation for grand achievements. The ominous “bubbles” inflating in various markets and the astronomical infusion of “empty” money into the global economy are classic examples of negative Jupiterian influences, leaving little room for optimism.
The Political Landscape
The global political arena is far from ideal. Additionally, in the traditional seven-year cycle, Jupiter governs the final, seventh year, meaning it must address the imbalances and issues accumulated over the previous period.
A notable example is the 2008 financial crisis, which shook the world’s socio-economic and political-legal systems to their core. Similarly, 2015 did not bring significant positive changes and instead exacerbated existing problems. It is likely that 2022 will mark another phase in the development of the crisis, this time on a qualitatively new level. In the coming years (2022–2025), we can expect a “quantum leap” that could radically alter the existing world order.
Key Astrological Aspects
Traditionally, I begin my astrological forecast with an overview of the general trends of the upcoming period. Several concerning factors stand out in the chart for the winter solstice (December 21, 2021, at 19:00 Minsk time, considered the start of the geopolitical New Year).
- Jupiter’s Position: Jupiter, the ruler of the upcoming year, is in the penultimate degree of Aquarius, forming a tense T-square with the karmic lunar nodes. This suggests the inevitability of “settling long-overdue debts” and the activation of negative Jupiterian aspects (e.g., “bursting bubbles”).
- Saturn-Uranus Square: The harsh and precise square between Saturn and Uranus will continue to influence the year. This aspect, which I discussed in last year’s forecast, is responsible for many of the problems of the outgoing year. It is associated with tensions in the financial, economic, political, and even military-strategic spheres, as well as destructive natural disasters and epochal technological catastrophes.
- Lunar Opposition: The harsh opposition of the Moon in sensitive Cancer to the conjunction of retrograde Venus and Pluto in demanding Capricorn leaves little chance for a peaceful resolution of the situation. Worldwide, the masses (symbolized by the Moon) may feel oppressed, disappointed, and deceived.
Large-scale protests, even riots, could erupt, leading to clashes with law enforcement (represented by Pluto). Economically, we may see accelerated inflation, tightened credit policies, and a decline in overall societal well-being.
New Year’s Chart
The New Year’s chart (00:00 on January 1, 2022) further exacerbates the situation. Jupiter will have moved into the first degree of Pisces but will still be in a tense T-square with the lunar nodes. Saturn and Uranus will continue their “confrontation,” and instead of Mercury, the Sun will form a constructive trine with Uranus.
Particular attention should be paid to the almost exact New Year’s conjunction of the Moon and Mars in Sagittarius, the sign ruled by Jupiter. The leitmotif of this aspect is a sharp “boiling over of emotions”: sudden, large-scale, and poorly controlled. This aspect predicts spontaneous armed clashes and even military conflicts (in the most unexpected regions of the planet) with a tendency towards globalization. The only hope lies in the harmonious resonance of this conjunction with strict and prudent Saturn in Aquarius, which may help prevent the worst-case scenario.
The only positive aspect in the winter solstice chart is the trine between Mercury and Uranus. This promises active development of new information technologies, significant breakthroughs in communications and international trade, and the widespread implementation of advanced scientific, technical, and educational programs.
Recommendations for the New Year
Color Scheme: The classic attribute of Jupiter is imperial purple. However, variations such as lilac, violet, burgundy, and deep blue are also favorable. Among jewelry, preference should be given to amethysts, sapphires, garnets, and other stones of the mentioned shades.
Festive Table: Remember that one of the key themes of the ruler of the upcoming year is generosity and abundance. However, this should primarily relate to the quality and variety of the prepared treats rather than the quantity. Candles are a must! The atmosphere at the table should be festive yet relaxed. And remember: the lord of Olympus loves humor.
2022: Key Milestones
The grandeur, scale, and “strategic” nature of the themes of the upcoming year, dictated by the characteristics of its chronocrat, make a detailed, “tactical” analysis of the situation each month inappropriate. Jupiter generally prefers “broad strokes” and conceptual approaches, disliking excessive details and tedious specifics. Therefore, I will limit myself to describing only the key moments and trends.
January: January will pass under the strong influence of the aspects described above. The situation will be tense, with a high probability of spontaneous mass protests and even armed clashes. Economically, we can expect accelerated inflation and a tightening of credit policies.
