Birthday Portraits

King Frederik and Queen Mary have shared new portraits of their twins, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, in celebration of their 15th birthday. The photos were taken at Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen just before the new year.

Separate Celebrations

The royal twins have been attending separate schools since 2023. Princess Josephine switched to Kildegård Privatskole in Hellerup, while her brother remains enrolled at Tranegårdskolen. In 2025, Josephine made a significant decision to move to Spir Eferskole, a unique Danish boarding school located 174 miles away from the royal family’s main residence in Copenhagen.

Princess Josephine’s Passions

Princess Josephine has a flair for the dramatic arts. She has appeared on stage in a performance of Peter Pan at Tivoli Copenhagen in 2023 and made her acting debut on the Danish TV series, Time Travel 2, in 2024.

Public Appearances and Achievements

The twins made several public appearances with their parents last year. Josephine joined her parents on their tour of the Faroe Islands. The siblings also participated in the annual Royal Run race, established by their father. Josephine took part in the one mile, 5km, and 10km distances. Prince Vincent has expressed his pride in his twin sister’s accomplishments.

Family and Future Ceremonies

The twins have two older siblings: Princess Isabella, 18, and Crown Prince Christian, 20, who is the heir to the Danish throne. The family spent Christmas at Frederik VIII’s Palace at Amalienborg.

Having celebrated their 15th birthday on January 8, this is a significant year for Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine. They are expected to have their own confirmation ceremony later this year, following in the footsteps of their older siblings.
