Natalia Tamelo: Age is Just a Number for Me

Natalia Tamelo, a renowned artist from Belarus, is a singer and songwriter who has made her mark in various competitions and shows. She has participated in the Eurovision selection process four times, dazzled audiences on “Dancing with the Stars,” opened a school of fine arts, and took part in “The Voice.” Yet, like any woman, she always feels there’s something more to achieve. Let’s delve into her thoughts on life, beauty, and success.

The Timeless Question of Age

When you search for “Tamelo” on Google, the first suggestion that pops up is “Natalia Tamelo age.” It seems this delicate question is what intrigues her fans the most. Judging by her creative biography, Natalia has been shining brightly since the last century. Yet, looking at her photos, one would think she’s a young lioness rather than a seasoned artist. How does she respond to this seemingly impolite question?

“Honestly, age doesn’t bother me at all,” Natalia shares. “I don’t just not feel it; I don’t even remember it. The only time I think about it is when I’m at a clinic filling out a medical form, and I have to subtract the years to figure out my actual age. And this isn’t coquetry. I genuinely don’t focus on it. Although, yes, I know I don’t look my passport age.”

The Secret to Her Youthful Appearance

So, what’s the secret to her timeless beauty? “This might sound cliché, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” Natalia explains. “I always smile, find joy in the little moments, appreciate the positivity each day brings, and surround myself with kind and spiritually rich people. As Omar Khayyam once said, ‘It’s better to be alone than in bad company.’ I truly value my friends and my circle. They are a constant source of energy and inspiration. And frankly, I don’t care how old they are.”

Natalia’s circle includes people from all walks of life, from 20-year-olds to 80-year-olds. “The important thing is that the fire within them burns brightly, and their soul remains alive,” she says. “I also keep myself in shape through physical work. I’m not one to shy away from manual labor. Cleaning the house is an excellent fitness routine, better than any gym. And the benefits are not just for me but for my loved ones as well. A clean space brings joy to the eye. Pure thoughts require a pure environment.”

Challenges and Triumphs

As an artist, Natalia faces her share of challenging questions. “The most painful question for any artist is, ‘Oh, we haven’t seen you lately. Where have you disappeared to?’ Such questions feel like a knife to the throat,” she admits. “Yes, the lifespan of a cavalier is short… But how much of that life is truly a celebration? You can’t always be fluttering like a butterfly from flower to flower. Life has different seasons: spring, when we gather strength; summer, when we flourish; autumn, the time of harvest; and winter, a moment for reflection and rebooting. So why deny artists all these seasons except summer? We are living, breathing humans.”

When asked what she would do if she lost her voice, Natalia responds, “Oh, I won’t even think about that, let alone discuss it! I believe thoughts materialize. I have many examples that confirm this. I only think about the good, plan for the good, and promise myself and others only good things. The sun that you carry inside you can light the way for many people. My voice is my sun.”

Love and Marriage

Natalia has been married to Igor for 12 years, but their journey together spans 19 years. “It’s flown by in the blink of an eye!” she exclaims. “We’ve been through a lot, like any couple. It hasn’t always been smooth sailing. Of course, there were difficulties, but we overcame them.”

“I can confidently say that the good outweighs the bad. Igor is my greatest find in life. He’s a piece of my heart. Without him, my whole being malfunctions and falls ill. But with him, everything works like clockwork. Honestly, my husband deserves a medal for his patience. I’m a Taurus, and as they say, a bull in every sense. I’m a volcano, full of energy and madness! But he’s very homely. When I come home from work, sometimes even after midnight, there’s always a hot dinner waiting for me, and the apartment is spotless.”

Natalia emphasizes the importance of patience, respect, love, and care in a marriage. “Family is a meticulous daily work, but it’s a labor of love and significance,” she says. “And two years ago, we took a significant step in our relationship. We got married in the church. This was a conscious step, a new stage in our relationship and mutual trust.”

Life Philosophy

Natalia believes in living life at her own pace. “When I force myself to do something just because I feel I must, neither the process nor the result brings me joy,” she shares. “I love the events in my life, just like my songs, when they come naturally and effortlessly, as if created in just five minutes. That’s how I love! Do what you must, and let what will be, be.”

Reflecting on her experience on “The Voice,” Natalia says, “Any experience adds to our knowledge. On ‘The Voice,’ they simply told me, ‘You’re too professional; it will be challenging with you.'”

Born by the sea, Natalia sometimes feels landlocked in Belarus. “Only another sea can replace the sea,” she admits. “Yes, I’m a force of nature! I miss the sea, so every year we have a rendezvous. Our family has a ancestral nest where my grandfather tilled the land and built a house. The air there is amazing, the sky is endless, and the stars at night are huge. That’s where I relax, and my soul feels at peace. But I can’t just lie on the beach for long. I need to communicate with people, give myself and my songs, perform. That’s my purpose and true happiness.”
