Iskui Abalyan: Children Are My Top Priority
Balancing Act: The Life of Iskui Abalyan
Iskui Abalyan, a renowned artist and talented singer, is not just a successful woman but also a devoted wife and mother of two. As a strong woman who fearlessly tackles challenges, and a goodwill ambassador for the UN, she embodies the essence of a modern, accomplished woman. However, maintaining a balance between work and family, public and private life, is no easy feat. We sat down with the beautiful Iskui Abalyan to learn how she manages to stay true to herself while chasing her dreams and preserving not only her natural beauty but also her inner harmony.
The Secret to Maintaining Beauty and Energy
Iskui, you are undoubtedly one of the most captivating artists on the Belarusian stage. It seems like you have a special talent for preserving your external attractiveness and feminine energy.
You know, no matter how brilliant a woman is at managing her life, it becomes increasingly difficult to find time for herself as the years go by, especially when you have young children. However, it is crucial to make time for self-care because time waits for no one. To restore your strength and inner resources, you need something that most working mothers tend to skimp on – sleep. Sleep is the foundation of everything. Only through adequate rest can you find the desire and energy to exercise, maintain a good mood, and stay inspired.
As for dietary trends, I must admit that I have always been particular about my diet. During my student years, I even gave up meat. This was mainly because I found it challenging to prepare complex meals due to time constraints and financial limitations. My diet consisted of vegetables and grains, which provided me with enough energy to float through life. Now, as someone with Caucasian roots, I feel the need for fresh greens. If I don’t consume a mix of salads at least once a day, I feel a sharp lack of freshness. Fish and meat are foods that I enjoy, but these dishes need to be prepared and consumed correctly.
Beyond the Rules of a Healthy Lifestyle
It’s safe to assume that your self-care routine goes beyond just following the rules of a healthy lifestyle. Many readers might think that it’s easier for stars like you because you have professional makeup artists and cosmetologists at your disposal.
Undoubtedly, being an artist requires more serious facial care and additional procedures that ordinary women don’t often do in their daily lives. However, this is part of the job. In our youth, we might feel the need to wear more makeup and try new products and dramatic looks. But as we age, we strive to look more natural. We come to understand that no nourishing mask can save us if we don’t take care of our sleep and diet.
Learning from Mistakes
Was there always this “correctness,” or did you have to go through trial and error?
Throughout my life, I have only followed one diet, but it was quite remarkable. The Japanese low-carb diet allows you to lose between four to six kilograms in a week. The diet consists of vegetables, meat, and fish, focusing on reducing food intake and improving metabolism. I have been fortunate because I have always been athletic. I used to run cross-country in the mornings when I was in school, worked out in the gym during my student years, and I still maintain a fitness routine.
Balancing Motherhood and Career
It’s clear where your stage drive comes from, but what about the postpartum period and the inevitable fatigue that comes with it? Did you have to sacrifice your peace of mind and attention to your children for the sake of your artistic career?
Any mother will tell you that children are the most important thing. Even though your beloved work is your inspiration and independence, nothing is more important than family! I am lucky to have people around me who don’t force me to make sacrifices. After my second child was born, I consciously didn’t allow myself to relax. Just two weeks after Sonya was born, I was working on recording concerts for the TV project “I Sing.” To this day, people joke that I scheduled my due date around the project’s shooting schedule (laughs). The project was a breath of fresh air, and we were all eagerly awaiting the competition for young talents. I remember that even during my first pregnancy, I didn’t stay at home for long. Just three months after Ksyusha was born, I was on stage at the “Golden Hit” festival. For me, personally, balancing the roles of a mother of two, a wife, and continuing to pursue my passion is an incredible happiness!
Celebrating 20 Years of Creative Career
Music found you and has been accompanying you through life. However, building a family was not easy. Now that those difficult times are behind you, you have an important and responsible event ahead – a jubilee solo concert dedicated to the 20th anniversary of your creative career. What has changed during your time on stage, and how have you changed?
What’s more important is what hasn’t changed: the desire to perform on stage and the need for love that I receive from the audience and listeners. Without this nourishment, life would be very difficult. You get used to it and live for it. To be a harmonious artist, I believe you need to be natural and true to yourself, in harmony with your thoughts and time. I strive for this. Extreme sincerity on stage and prudence in the process of creating an artistic image – in my creative search, I prefer to preserve energy for the cause, rather than squander it. I often hear opinions that I am a rather closed person, that it is difficult to approach me, or that I am becoming less sociable. However, this is more of a forced economy of inner resources associated with public life. In my personal life and work, I try to be attentive to my close circle and creative team, hoping that it is thanks to our spiritual unity that we can create a quality musical product that we can be proud of.
