If you’re unsure what to listen to this fall, we’ve curated a list of 10 excellent groups with new albums expected in the next two months, some of which are already available.
Die Antwoord
The new album from the flamboyant South African duo, Die Antwoord, hits the shelves in September and promises to be “dark and harsh,” according to the musicians themselves. The track “Banana Brain,” already released online, gives a taste of what to expect this fall, accompanied by an impressive video full of psychedelic trips and other eccentricities. “A giant supernatural mega-aura” is what Ninja and Yolandi have infused into their latest work. Besides the caustic and acidic tracks, fans will also enjoy a vulnerable, romantic, yet brave and triumphant setlist. So, there’s no chance of getting bored.
Phantogram
The stylish and distinctly modern indie-pop duo Phantogram is delighting fans with their third album, which they will be touring across America. As always, the tracks on the fall album are filled with intense emotions, confidence, and an uncompromising style. Listen to the track “You Don’t Get Me High Anymore,” which announces the album’s release, and it’s clear that the group has not lost its relevance. The album, symbolically titled “Three,” will be available in September, and in November, Phantogram will embark on a fall tour to present their creation.
Massive Attack
The legendary pioneers of trip-hop, Massive Attack, continue to release new tracks since their last EP, “Ritual Spirit,” filled with dark, meditative, and slightly mad tracks. This time, the group announced the release of a new single, “Dear Friend,” which local fans could hear on September 3rd at a concert in Bristol. The rest of the public will have to wait for the full release and the album’s release. It’s safe to say that Massive Attack, firmly established in their genre, continue to evolve in their unique style, and their new works are truly worth listening to during the melancholic fall season.
Korn
For those who prefer heavier music, there’s news from the nu-metal world. The multi-platinum and genre-defining group Korn is preparing a new album, “The Serenity of Suffering,” for their fans. The musicians worked with Nick Raskulinecz, who has collaborated with bands like Foo Fighters, Deftones, Mastodon, and Rush. The album includes a collaborative track titled “A Different World” with Slipknot’s frontman Corey Taylor. According to guitarist Brian Welch, aka “Head,” this album proves that Korn has not lost its power and intensity and is still ready to share their bleeding energy.
Crystal Castles
After the departure of lead singer and main ideologist Alice Glass, it seemed that Crystal Castles would disband for good. However, to the delight of fans, the electronic music antagonists released a new album featuring a new member, Edith Frances. The group was incredibly lucky, as if fans didn’t know about Alice’s departure, they wouldn’t have noticed the difference. Edith Frances seamlessly integrated into the collective and revived the group’s former atmosphere, with all the vocal peculiarities that listeners had come to expect from Crystal Castles. In one of the tracks from the released album, “Fleece,” the same hysterical vocal delivery can be heard, accompanied by ripping riffs, industrial noise, and melodic, tender motifs. Despite the mixed reception from critics, the album “Amnesty” can perfectly blend into the urban beauty of fall.
Regina Spektor
Since Regina Spektor released her last album, much has changed in the singer’s life. Over the past four years, the charming Regina has given birth to a child and begun work on her next record, which will feature all the songs from Spektor’s musical career. In addition to the LP, the singer is also preparing a new, seventh album inspired by motherhood.

Trentemøller pushes musical boundaries at every stage of his career, skillfully combining the talent of an artist, musical knowledge, and the ability to turn instrumentals into some of the best examples of electronic music. His tracks range from soul-stirring ambient to techno. Trentemøller can be called a trendsetter in electronic music, continuing to evolve in his genres and inspire others. This September, fans of quality electronic music can look forward to the artist’s fourth album, “Fixion,” whose first single, “River In Me,” fans have long been able to appreciate.
Sum 41
Known for their explosive punk atmosphere and nostalgia for the sweet sixteen, Sum 41 has seriously evolved since the release of their last album in 2011. The band’s new work, titled “13 Voices,” tells the story of frontman Deryck Whibley’s deep struggles and near-death experience. According to the artist, the new album is about everything he has gone through and what he wants to share with his fans. In his opinion, great happiness in life is having something to fight for and live for. The upcoming album literally saved Whibley’s life, so the musician is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to share it with fans.
Angel Olsen
Indie rock representative Angel Olsen released her third studio album, “My Woman.” Fans can expect the same charming indie delivery from Olsen, with elements of folk and country. The album’s structure is two-sided, like a real vinyl record, with quite bright tracks at the beginning and more subdued ones towards the end. The album itself is dedicated to femininity and how difficult it is to be a woman in the modern world. That’s why among the track titles, there are names like “Sister” or “Woman.” However, despite the main message of Olsen’s music, according to her, the new album is intended not only for women but also for men who care about what the singer wants to convey.
Bastille
The British indie-pop group Bastille made an impressive debut in 2013, and just three years later, they are ready to present their new work. The band continues to evolve and delight fans with their unique sound, making them a must-listen this fall.
