Chef Jonathan Gallet, the driving force behind Cacaoté, brings over 25 years of experience as a trained patissier. His passion for pastry began in childhood, and he has honed his skills under renowned chefs and in prestigious hotels around the world. Today, he leads the team at Cacaoté, ensuring that every chocolate creation is a masterpiece.

A Tour of the Patisserie

Before indulging in the chocolate tasting, I was taken on a tour of the patisserie. The kitchen, filled with shiny contraptions and giant fridges stocked with sweet treats, was a sight to behold. The vast seating area, with its warm brown glass along the staircase and intricately designed lamps, tells a story of a space that takes pride in being grand yet calm.

The Ultimate Chocolate Tasting Experience

The chocolate tasting, or as I like to call it, a ‘chocolate lunch,’ was an experience like no other. From the Peanut Bar to the Thai Chili bar, each chocolate creation was a delight to the senses. The main course, the Chocolate Mandarin Bergoument, was a rich and indulgent treat that left me wanting more.

At Cacaoté, each chocolate is crafted with precision, using the highest quality cocoa sourced from tropical regions in Central and South America and Africa. The process involves meticulous quality control, tempering, hand-painting bonbon moulds, and layering rich fillings like ganache and caramel. Each piece undergoes strict quality checks to ensure that every bite is worth the calories.
