Belarusian Designer Shines in Moscow’s Renowned Art Calendar

Imagine the Instagram posts of the Snow Queen, Vasilisa the Beautiful, or the Shahmakhan Queen. The Russian Silhouette Charitable Foundation, led by Tatyana Mikhalkova and Alexander Mitroshenkov, brought these fairy tale characters to life through the lens of modern couture in a photo calendar. In these challenging times, everyone deserves a touch of magic and wonder.

The Art Calendar Project

The project traditionally showcases art through contemporary photography. This year, fashion photographer Alexander Multikov captured the enchanting theme, bringing fairy tale characters into the modern world. For the first time, a young designer from Belarus, Nikita Vedernikov, was featured in the art calendar. Vedernikov, a prize-winner of the Republican Fashion and Photo Festival “Fashion Mill,” graduated from the Brest State College of Service and has been a finalist in multiple fashion competitions.

Supporting Young Talent

Tatyana Mikhalkova emphasized the foundation’s commitment to supporting young designers: “Our goal is to provide timely support and opportunities for young designers to showcase their talent! Each year, one of the finalists participates in the calendar shoot alongside renowned couturiers. Together with the friends of the foundation, we strive to make wearing Russian brands prestigious.”

One of the highlights of the evening was the collection of the brilliant artist who made Russian fashion appreciated worldwide, Slava Zaitsev. His incredibly talented collection graced the event, offering young designers a chance to learn from the best.

Celebrities and Designers Unite

Actresses and models such as Alexandra Rebenok, Elena Lyadova, Tatyana Babenkova, and many others transformed into beloved fairy tale characters. The costumes were designed by renowned fashion designers including Valentin Yudashkin, Vyacheslav Zaitsev, and Nikita Vedernikov from Belarus.

The Grand Finale

The evening’s main event was the haute couture collection show by the maestro of Russian fashion, People’s Artist of Russia, Vyacheslav Zaitsev. The vibrant colors, traditional patterns, and floral elements of the costumes offered a modern interpretation of authentic Russian culture. The models, specially selected from various collections, seemed to have stepped right out of the pages of fairy tale books.

Vyacheslav Zaitsev was the first Russian designer to captivate audiences at shows in the USA, England, Canada, and Japan. For 65 years, his creativity has promoted Russian traditions, drawn attention to our culture, and become an integral part of it. The luxurious outfits were further enhanced by the ambiance of the “Collection” museum, home to priceless exhibits of global cultural significance.

Among the guests were American producer and Oscar winner Steven Mao, Elena Malysheva, Irina Krutikova, and many others. The evening concluded with a performance by Inna Malikova and the group “New Gems” with their New Year musical hits.

The presentation of the annual calendar “Russian Silhouette” titled “Book of Fairy Tales” was supported by “Eurofinance Mosnarbank.”
