Alexander Gordon’s Marriage Habit: Why Each New Union Gets Shorter
Alexander Gordon: A Pattern of Short-Lived Marriages
Alexander Gordon and Dmitry Dibrov are two renowned TV hosts from the golden era of Russian television. Recently, they’ve been in the news not for their new projects, but for their divorces. While the entire country followed Dmitry Dibrov’s personal tragedy, Alexander Gordon’s divorce and new marriage went quietly unnoticed. Fans of the “Male and Female” host only learned about his new love after the couple had already tied the knot. However, the significant age difference in the union sparked widespread discussion.
The Age Gap and Marriage Duration
Gordon’s new wife, Alina Mikhailova, is 44 years younger than him, making her his sixth spouse. Readers of Woman.ru commented on the news of the wedding, predicting the marriage would last no more than a year and joking about the presentation of a seventh wife next year. Indeed, each of Gordon’s marriages has been shorter than the last. Moreover, all six of his wives were under 30 when they married him.
Gordon’s Explanation
Gordon himself explains this age paradox by saying, “I have never wished or done anything bad to my wives, and I have a great relationship with the mother of my children. I have always had a young wife, that’s the tradition. But seriously, if I had been lucky enough to live my whole life with a woman my age, it would have been a completely different kind of joy. But I wasn’t lucky.”
Changing Wives Like Gloves
Gordon met his first wife, journalist Maria Berdnikova, while he was still a student at a theater institute. After graduation, they married, and a year later, their daughter Anya was born. The young family settled in the Chertanovo district in an apartment gifted by Gordon’s father, a famous artist and writer.
As a young parent, Gordon worked at the Ruben Simonov Theater-Studio but soon realized that his theater earnings couldn’t support his family. After the USSR collapsed, he decided to emigrate to the USA, confident that his education and erudition would secure him a good life. However, America tests any talent for strength of will, so Gordon soon set aside his acting ambitions and took up various jobs. He worked as an electrician and an air conditioner installer before finally finding a job as a host on a Russian-language channel. He was then invited to create the program “New York, New York.” However, after three years in emigration, he realized he missed home, and America wasn’t the dream country he had imagined. Additionally, his personal life had crumbled—domestic troubles had destroyed his first marriage, and Berdnikova and their daughter decided to stay in the USA.
A New Life in Russia
Meanwhile, a new era of television had begun in Russia, and Gordon found himself in the right place at the right time. He created the popular show “Collection of Misconceptions,” then co-hosted “The Process” with Vladimir Solovyov, and even established his own “Party of Public Cynicism.” However, the latter quickly lost its appeal.
During this time, he began a new relationship with actress Nana Kiknadze. They met in the USA at a TV academy course, both were in relationships, but that didn’t stop them from starting a passionate affair. Soon, the stunning Nana realized that her lover was pathologically jealous. Gordon forbade Kiknadze from pursuing a modeling career, fearing that other men would harass her. When they moved to Moscow, he insisted she use only above-ground transportation, not the metro.
“There was no mobile reception, and consequently, he couldn’t reach me,” Nana recalled. Gordon controlled every step and movement of his civil wife. It seemed that if she wasn’t around, he simply couldn’t breathe. At some point, Kiknadze realized she was suffocating in the relationship, and after seven years together, the couple parted ways.
Gordon didn’t stay single for long. At 36, he met 20-year-old Katya Prokofyeva, and they quickly married. However, the young wife soon realized that Gordon’s love for alcohol was growing and tried to stop him.
“I had an issue with his alcoholism, and I still do. I am outraged that there are people around him who allow this. When we were together, I did everything to make him look great, drink less, and limit his communication with those who came with a bottle,” the scandalous lawyer told Diana Kadi’s YouTube channel. But it didn’t work out, and after six years of marriage, the couple divorced.
Less than a year later, the famous TV host brought a new lover, Nina, into his apartment. She had just turned 18. To avoid the fuss about his wife’s young age, Gordon had a secret wedding, but the scandal couldn’t be avoided. It turned out to be related not to Nina, but to Gordon’s extramarital child, who was born to journalist Yelena Pashkova less than a year after his marriage to the 18-year-old bride. It turned out that Gordon had an affair at the Odessa Film Festival, resulting in a daughter, Sasha, who looked very much like her father. The news of the extramarital child shocked Nina to the core, and she filed for divorce.
Familiar with the Bride Since Childhood
Was Alexander Garrievich upset about another failed marriage? Possibly. But a year later, he began appearing in public with a 20-year-old VGIK student, Nozanim Abdulvasiyeva. As it turned out, Gordon had known his bride since her childhood: Noze was ten years old when her grandfather brought her to the studio on Krasnaya Presnya, where Gordon was dubbing his film. The girl grew up, became a student, and came to interview Gordon on the set of the film “Smart Aleck.” After the interview, the couple went to dinner and never parted ways again.
During six years of marriage, the family had two children—a daughter, Sasha, and a son, Fyodor—but even they couldn’t save the marriage from divorce. There were rumors that the young wife was tired of tolerating the famous husband’s infidelity and his strong dependence on alcohol. By the way, the tele-star doesn’t hide it.
“If we judge by medical standards, then yes, of course, I suffer from alcoholism,” says Gordon. “But I am some kind of socialized alcoholic because I work like crazy. Recently, I underwent a complete examination of the body. Except for age-related changes, everything is in order. There were times when I drank two bottles of cognac a day, but thank God, those days are over. I drink at work and never hide it. What does it look like? I go backstage, there is a small glass of white wine, I take a sip and return.”
Seven years ago, at a festival in Yelabuga, the hero of our material met a student of the State Musical and Pedagogical Institute named after Ippolitov-Ivanov, Sofia Kalandaдзе. And three years later, again unexpectedly for everyone, he married the Georgian beauty. Moreover, for the first time, the marriage registration ended with a wedding ceremony held at the Spaso-Evfimiev Monastery in Suzdal. At the celebration, the drunk Gordon joked that this was the fifth wedding—a jubilee—and God willing, the last one.
But the wedding vows did not last even two years. Someone close to Gordon was right when they noted that each new marriage of the host is always shorter than the previous one. So it turned out with the “jubilee” union. Did the host of “Male and Female” mourn the divorce for long? A couple of months. In 2025, he got married again. Alexander Gordon’s new chosen one, Alina Mikhailova, is 23 years old and has already moved into his country house.
Before meeting the TV star, Mikhailova worked as a property master at a film studio in the art constructions department. That’s where they met. Now the couple lives in the Moscow region—Alexander has a large two-story mansion in a guarded village on the river.
