What Women Really Dream About: Beyond Love and Flowers
The myth that women only dream about love, flowers, and beauty is long overdue for retirement. The modern woman is far more complex and fascinating. She loves, but also builds an impressive career. She is beautiful, but also constructs homes and leads factories. And those flowers? They grow in her garden, which she cultivated with her own hands.
Dreams of Modern Women
Top managers from the A-100 Development group of companies, the largest and most renowned developer of residential and commercial real estate in Belarus, shared their dreams with us. They also revealed what it’s like to helm a traditionally male-dominated business and why it’s crucial for them to keep dreaming.
Anna Yastrebova
General Director of the A-100 Development group of companies
“This year, the A-100 group of companies turns 30. We dream that our company, despite its solid age and rich history, remains innovative, elegant, and standard-setting. We want our projects and architecture to remain relevant for future generations, even 100-200-300 years from now.”
Dreaming Big
As a child, Anna dreamed of becoming an astronaut. Born on April 12, she believed that being born on Cosmonautics Day meant she was destined to reach for the stars. This dream reflected her ambitious nature and her desire to achieve great heights.
Adults dream differently, considering limitations and turning dreams into plans. Sometimes, they even stop dreaming altogether and only set goals. But Anna’s story shows the importance of never stopping to dream.
From Dreams to Reality
Six years ago, Anna admired the projects of A-100 Development. She dreamed of joining the company and, when a vacancy opened, she seized the opportunity. She excelled in all her interviews and confidently stated, “This is the job of my dreams. No matter how challenging, I will succeed.” Time proved her right.
Anna started as the financial director but soon became the director of the Modern Concrete Structures plant. A few years later, she became the general director of the entire group of companies. What was once a dream, like flying into space, became her reality—far more significant than she had initially imagined.
The Importance of Dreaming
Anna emphasizes the importance of never stopping to dream. When passion is involved, the question of work-life balance doesn’t arise. The company’s success in creating relevant architecture for future generations stems from their dedication, skills, knowledge, and passion for what they do.
For Anna and her team, this is not just a job; it’s their life. They love what they do and draw inspiration from it. Seeing happy clients brings them immense joy and satisfaction, making them feel as if they are walking on air.
Women in Leadership
In their company, women hold all the leadership positions. Anna believes that women’s meticulousness helps achieve high quality, while their flexibility and restlessness help unite many participants in a process without missing deadlines. However, she also acknowledges the crucial role of their male colleagues, who provide strong technological support. This harmonious tandem results in elegant and robust projects.
Anna’s wish for her employees, clients, and readers is that with the arrival of spring, everyone finds new breath and opportunities. She hopes that everyone can see and seize these opportunities and continue to dream.
