Princess Kate’s Favorite Designer Faces Financial Crisis

Tabitha Webb, a beloved fashion designer often chosen by the Princess of Wales, has encountered significant financial troubles. After more than a decade in the industry, dressing some of the most prominent female stars, her company, Tabitha Designs Ltd, founded in 2013, is reportedly burdened with substantial debts.

The Princess’ Fashion Choice

The Princess of Wales, aged 43, has frequently been seen wearing Tabitha Webb’s distinctive, brightly colored designs made from silk and cashmere fabrics. In 2020, she wore a green chevron pansy pussybow blouse for a royal outing in Birmingham and a blue jumper during a video call with midwives.

Financial Struggles and Liquidation

Despite dressing high-profile celebrities like Holly Willoughby, Claudia Winkleman, Davina McCall, and Emilia Fox, Tabitha Designs Ltd has entered voluntary liquidation. The company’s debts have accumulated to £700,000, including an outstanding £50,000 tax bill with HMRC. A spokesman for the liquidators confirmed to the Daily Mail that due to business challenges since the pandemic and declining sales, the director made the difficult decision to liquidate. It is unlikely that creditors will be repaid.

The Princess’ Long-Time Support

Despite these recent hardships, the Princess of Wales has been a long-time supporter of Tabitha Webb’s designs. She has worn Webb’s creations on numerous occasions, including a floral dress during a royal visit to Tuvalu in 2012 and a space-themed dress at a movie premiere in 2015.

Tabitha’s Personal Life and Reflections

In 2024, Tabitha shared insights into her life in South Africa, where her husband Gavin Ferrar is from. She expressed feeling more relaxed there, away from the usual worries of her fashion business. Tabitha also spoke about her friendship with Pippa Middleton and their collaboration for the British Heart Foundation.
